Stephen Hawking New Book states universe not created by God
Professor Stephen Hawking, Britain’s most admired living scientist has said “God did not create the universe” This statement is made clear in his new book due to be out in the shops by the 9th September. It does appear that the eminent scientist has changed his old opinion, in his book, A Brief History of Time, at the time it did seem that Hawkins had accepted that God did take some part in the creation of the universe.
In his new creation, The Grand Design, Hawkins states that the big bang occurred due to the laws of gravity and not intervention. This profound statement was not made likely and was based on new theories that showed a creator was not required.
His reasoning appears to be logical and sensible, he disagrees with Sir Isaac Newtons idea that God designed the universe. To support this he writes “ Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing,”
In The Grand Design, Hawkins explains the M-theory, the theory that Einstein was hoping to find. It is the theory that formulates an idea about the basic physical matter of the universe.
The Grand Design was co-written with Leonard Mlodinow an American physicist.
