T.I. The Famous Rapper is Arrested on Drug Charges

It has been reported that T.I the famous American music artist and rapper who’s real name is Clifford Joseph Harris was arrested along with his wife, Tameka Cottle, in LA on drug charges, on Wednesday evening.

This is just months after his release from prison. A source has said that he had apparently been arrested by traffic police when they stopped him and smelt marijuana coming from his vehicle. However, the police have not announced the name of the drug, though a number of sources believe it is not cocaine.

T.I , 29, is currently under probation in relation to a federal weapons charge, the charge is connected to a sting operation in 2007, whereby he was caught accepting a number of guns that had been purchased for him. For this he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 1000 hours of community support. He also tried to help teenagers that get involved in guns by appearing on a MTV series, telling teenagers not to get involved in violence and guns.

T.I has been in the press recently featuring in some good news, he stared in the hit movie “Takers “ which is currently number one at the box office. He also got married in a romantic and secret ceremony just a little over a month ago to Cottle and also performed live at the 2010 Bet awards.

The couple were both released from jail after bail was posted at $10.000. It is expected that he will appear at court on Friday.
